YOUR FREE GUIDE TO MAKING GOLD IN WORLD OF WARCRAFT

Chapter 14 - Leatherworking

Like the other crafting professions Leatherworking is a profession with a few high end pretty high profit recipes and a few smaller profit lower level recipes. If you have this profession alone you will be able to bring in some profits, but you will not get rich quickly off of leatherworking alone.

Benefits:

1) Easy to level. Like tailoring, leatherworking is a profession that doesn't need lots of different kinds of materials to level up. Just stock up on lots of leather at the Auction House and you will pretty much be set.

2) Once leatherworking is levelled up it won't take up tons and tons of your bag space.

3) Abilities that turn one kind of leather into another kind can often be used to make a profit.

Drawbacks:

1) There just aren't that many items that you can make for a profit.

2) Generally need to be max level to make a good profit in leather working.

My advice on leatherworking:

I'm actually pretty bullish on leatherworking right now. The high end PVP sets along with Chaos Orb recipes tend to sell well. In addition the ability to turn leather into different types of leather (for example the ability to make heavy leather) is an simple way to often make a profit. In the long term, however, I am not very bullish on leatherworking. Besides leg armors there aren't many items that leatherworkers can rely on for a profit. This profession relies heavily on the end game recipes for most of it's profitability - meaning if Blizzard comes out with a few dud recipes for endgame content in leatherworking this professions profitability is gone.

Recipes of Note:

1) Leg armors usually sell well.

2) The high end PVP sets along with Chaos Orb recipes.

3) Any ability which enables you to turn one type of leather into another type of leather (ex. scraps -> leather -> heavy leather).
